A Glorious Reunion

'For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.'

1 Thessalonians 4: 14 ' 18
King James Version

One victorious day the trumpet is going to sound and the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout and we will see Him face to face. We will be reunited with our loved ones who are already home with Jesus. I think that Jesus is going to have the biggest smile on His face that anyone has ever seen. On that day He will be rewarded for all the heartache, sorrows, agony and horror that He endured on the cross. If ever someone deserves to be awarded it is Jesus! I believe as He descends that He will have His arms open wide just as He does now for us to run into them.

We sing the song 'There's room at the cross for you.  There's room at the cross for you.  Though millions have come, there's still room for one. Yes there's room at the cross for you'. Indeed there is still room at the cross for every person in the world.  There is also room on the lap of Jesus for every person. His lap is wide enough and deep enough to hold all of us. If you are a parent you know how it feels when your child is on your lap; you feel joy and happiness.

That is exactly how Jesus feels when we climb up on His lap and put our arms of trust around Him. His heart swells with unconditional love, grace, mercy, understanding, tenderness and joy. Why do we hurt Him when He has done so much for us and all He asks in return is for us to love others unconditionally and to forgive them as we have been forgiven? Are you going to be there at that glorious reunion when Jesus Himself comes back for us?
