Christian Articles GODS HOMEWORKBut seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 I was talking to someone on the phone yesterday afternoon when all of a sudden I heard her say, Are you reading your Bible? You know, I dont mind if you read it, but I want you to do your homework first. My first reaction was shock, and then anger, and then my heart broke as I realized that she just hurt the Heart of my Best Friend, Jesus. The boy who was reading the Bible has
been through severe emotional distress all of his life by the fighting between
his parents and the things that happen in his home. He was reaching out for the only Comfort that he knew, and
his mother said to stop reading your Bible. I dont want to be that mother when she
stands before God on the Judgment Day. This
verse says to seek God and His Righteousness first.
When I was in college, before I took any test I always prayed and asked
God to help me. Parents, please dont stop your
children from reading the Bible. You
should be more concerned about that than about their homework. Yes, homework is important and it needs to be done, but they
cant take it with them for Eternity. Are you seeking God?
Are you putting Him first in everything that you think, say, or do?
We need to put Him first and then everything else will work out for our
good. Joanne Lowe Used with permission.
