If I were an Elephant... CD Rom Craft

There is also a TP Roll Elephant on the site, but this elephant has been made especially for the song (it has a banner with "I'd thank-you, Lord, by raising my trunk.").

Elephant craft

Materials you will need for the elephant are CD Rom or margarine container lid, a printer, glue, scissors, something to colour with and a piece of paper (I prefer construction paper).

NOTE:  you can omit the CD Rom/Margarine lid and just treat as a paper craft.

bulletPrint out the template of choice.

bulletColour the pieces as appropriate and cut them out.  (cutting may require adult assistance and can be pre-done).

bulletSee the picture above if you're confused as to how to put this together.

bulletGlue the circle onto the CD Rom or margarine container lid (the template is made for a 4.75 inch circle so trim lid to fit).

bulletGlue the ears (second template) onto the back of the circle.

bulletGlue the trunk, tusks and eyes onto the front of the circle.

bulletGlue the banner along the bottom of the elephant's head (or glue it to the end of the trunk so it looks like the elephant is holding it.

bulletSet page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE, PRINTER SETUP in most browsers).
